Kilo Real Estate
A residential real-estate site with map-based listings and enquiry routing.
The system we built
A residential real-estate firm needed a listings platform their agents could maintain without engineering help — and buyers could actually search on mobile. We designed and built both.
Agents were updating spreadsheets that got dumped into a static site once a week. Enquiries were emailed to a shared inbox with no routing. Mobile search was unusable.
- 1.Design a listings platform maintained by non-technical agents.
- 2.Ship map-based search that works on mobile.
- 3.Route enquiries to the right agent automatically.
- 4.Build SEO baseline for city + neighbourhood queries.
We ran a workshop with the agent team, mapped how a listing actually moves from acquisition to sold, and rebuilt the admin around that lifecycle — not a generic CRUD form.
Two experiences: a buyer-facing map + filter surface, and an agent-facing admin that felt like a spreadsheet with structure. Each optimised for its user.
Restrained UI so the listings photography carried each page. Sticky filter panel, tap-friendly map pins, and a listing card that never wraps oddly.
Next.js frontend, Supabase database, Mapbox for the map surface. Admin built as a bespoke internal app so the agent team never sees a database table.
- ▸Enquiries routed to the listing's agent + backup automatically.
- ▸Weekly digest of new listings to subscribed buyers.
- ▸Auto-generated per-city sitemaps as listings change.

- · Content briefs for neighbourhood guides.

Notes we keep coming back to.
- 01Real-estate photography is the product; UI is scaffolding.
- 02Agent admin UX matters more than buyer UX in the long run.
- 03Maps are only useful when they help you decide, not just browse.
Questions about the Kilo Real Estate project.
How are listings entered?
Agents use the bespoke admin — never a database table or a headless CMS built for developers.
Is the map required?
The list-view alternative is always available and equally functional.
Do you integrate with MLS-style feeds?
Yes — we've ingested XML feeds from portals when needed.
How is agent access managed?
Role-based auth with a manager tier who can add or remove agents.
