Connect every tool. Skip the glue code.
If it has an API, we can wire it. Workflows that ingest, transform, route and alert — designed by engineers, maintained like code.
Common workflow patterns.
Lead-to-CRM
Website → dedupe → enrich → assign → notify → nurture.
Order-to-fulfil
Stripe → inventory → Shiprocket → email → CRM.
Data sync
Two-way sync between apps that don't speak to each other.
AI pipeline
Event → GPT reasoning → action → log with cost per run.
Ship it like software.
Automation that breaks silently is worse than no automation. We treat workflows the way we treat production code.
- Version-controlled workflows
- Dead-letter queues + retries
- Slack alerts on failure
- Cost tracking per workflow
- Test + prod environments
- Runbook + handover docs
Orchestration FAQs.
Zapier for speed and non-technical owners. Make for visual complexity. n8n (self-hosted) when data privacy, cost at scale, or custom code matters. We'll pick per project.
n8n vs Zapier vs Make vs Temporal — pick by workflow shape
There is no best tool. There is the right tool for the workflow class you're building.
| Tool | Best workflow | Weakness | Cost at scale |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zapier | Simple linear triggers | Loops, branches get expensive | High — per-task pricing |
| Make (Integromat) | Visual multi-branch | Complex debugging | Moderate |
| n8n (self-host) | Long-running, custom code | You run the infra | Low — flat |
| Temporal / Inngest | Durable multi-day flows | Steeper learning curve | Low per exec, higher build |
| Airflow / Prefect | Data pipelines, batch | Wrong tool for realtime | Ops-heavy |
| Custom queue + workers | Extreme scale or custom | Build cost | Lowest per unit |
Idempotency, retries, and the rules that stop double-billing
Every serious orchestration has been burned by a retry storm. These are the rules we ship with, no exceptions.
- Idempotency key per external call
Every write to a third party carries a deterministic key. Retries are safe. Zero double-charges, double-emails, double-tickets.
- Exponential backoff with jitter
Retry at 1s, 3s, 10s, 30s + random jitter. Prevents thundering-herd on downstream after a blip.
- Circuit breaker
After N failures in T seconds, stop calling and alert. Continuing to hammer a down API multiplies the incident.
- Dead-letter queue
Failed messages after max retries land in DLQ with full context — never dropped, always replayable.
- Compensating transactions
Multi-step flows have explicit rollback steps for partial failures — the saga pattern, not "hope it succeeded".
- Observability at step-level
Every step traces input, output, duration, cost. Without this, debugging a 12-step workflow is guesswork.
